Form & Fiction

I was given the opportunity to create a short interstitial for the San Francisco based studio Form & Fiction. I was given free reign on the style as long as it adhered to the brand's primary sensibilities: fluidity, collaboration, and taking on the unexpected. I decided to animate frame-by-frame in Photoshop and finish with color and comping in After Effects. Here, instead of planning out the composition of each shot and baking the final animation to those positions (seen in the video on the LEFT) I figured it would be most flexible for the edit to just animate the entire '&' full frame in 4K resolution so we could play with the positioning after the fact (video on the RIGHT). I added the SFX, which weren't included in the deliverable.
